今日も素敵な出会いがありました。

今日は、ショップ用にとても良い仕入れができました。
今回購入したのは5枚。
そのうち3枚は、なんと半額で仕入れることができました！
良いものを、できるだけ良い価格で。
これは私が仕入れをするときにいつも大切にしていることのひとつです。
でも、ただ安く仕入れられればいい、というわけではありません。
私がショップに並べたいと思うのは、実際に手に取ってみて、
「これは美しい」
「誰かに届けたい」
「この柄や色、この雰囲気を、もう一度誰かに楽しんでもらいたい」
そう思えるものだけです。

「売れそうだから」ではなく、「届けたいから」選ぶ

ヴィンテージの着物や帯には、一点一点、それぞれの個性があります。
同じものはほとんどありません。
華やかな柄。
繊細な色使い。
日本らしい文様。
手仕事の美しさ。
そして、長い時間を経てきたからこそ生まれる独特の雰囲気。
コンディションがとても良いものもあれば、ヴィンテージならではの使用感や、小さなダメージがあるものもあります。
もちろん、コンディションの良いものは、その価値に合わせた価格になります。
一方で、多少コンディションに難があっても、
「この柄は本当に美しい」
「この色の組み合わせは素晴らしい」
「少し手を加えれば、また新しい形で楽しめる」
そう思えるものもあります。
そんな商品は、状態に合わせて価格をお安くしています。
なぜなら、コンディションに少し難があったとしても、その着物や帯が持つ美しさまで失われるわけではないと思っているからです。

ラグジュアリーな一点ものから、気軽に楽しめるヴィンテージまで

私のショップでは、ラグジュアリーな一点ものだけを扱いたいわけではありません。
特別な日に楽しみたい美しい着物や帯。
そして、
「ヴィンテージ着物を初めて買ってみたい」

もちろん、着物や帯は、本来は身に着けて楽しむものです。
でも私は、それだけではないと思っています。
美しい帯をテーブルランナーとして使ったり。

リメイクして、新しいアイテムとして生まれ変わらせたり。

日本に住んでいる私にとって、着物や帯は比較的身近な存在です。
でも、世界には、日本の着物や伝統的なテキスタイルを見て、

と、その美しさに心を動かしてくださる方がいます。
その反応を見るたびに、日本の着物や帯には、国や文化を超えて人の心に届く魅力があるのだと感じます。
だからこそ私は、ただヴィンテージ着物を販売するだけではなく、

今は、とにかくショップづくりに夢中です。
仕入れをして、
一点一点状態を確認して、
写真を撮り、
サイズを測り、
商品の魅力を考えて、
世界中のお客様に伝わるように説明を書く。
地道な作業ですが、とても楽しい時間です。
今は私にとって、まさに「種まきの時期」なのだと思っています。
すぐに大きな結果が出なくても、今できることをひとつずつ積み重ねる。
良い商品を選び、
丁寧に紹介し、
ショップを少しずつ育てていく。
クリスマスに向けて、これからさらにショップの商品を充実させていく予定です。

A Beautiful Find: Why I Choose Kimono I Truly Want to Share with the World

Today, I had a wonderful day sourcing new items for my shop.
I found five beautiful pieces, and three of them were even available at half price!
Finding beautiful items at a good price is one of the things I truly enjoy about sourcing.
But for me, finding something at a good price is never the only reason to buy it.
The pieces I choose for my shop are the ones that make me feel something when I see them.
“This is beautiful.”
“I want to share this with someone.”
“I want someone else to have the chance to enjoy these colors, patterns, and this unique atmosphere.”
Those are the feelings that guide me when I select each item.

I Choose Pieces I Want to Share, Not Simply Pieces I Think Will Sell

Every vintage kimono and obi has its own personality.
No two pieces are exactly the same.
Brilliant patterns.
Delicate color combinations.
Traditional Japanese motifs.
The beauty of craftsmanship.
And a unique atmosphere created through the passage of time.
Some pieces are in excellent condition, while others show signs of age and use, as vintage items naturally do.
Of course, pieces in excellent condition are priced according to their quality and value.
However, there are also items with some signs of wear that still have an incredibly beautiful design.
Sometimes I see a kimono or obi and think:
“This pattern is truly beautiful.”
“These colors are extraordinary.”
“With a little creativity, this piece could be enjoyed in a completely new way.”
When I find something like that, I may offer it at a more affordable price according to its condition.
Because even if a vintage piece has some imperfections, its beauty does not disappear.

I do not want my shop to offer only luxury items.
Of course, I love beautiful and special pieces that feel truly one of a kind.

Recently, I have been welcoming more visitors and customers from overseas through Etsy.
For me, living in Japan, kimono and obi are familiar parts of Japanese culture.
But for many people around the world, discovering a Japanese kimono or obi can be a completely new experience.
I am always happy when someone sees a piece of Japanese textile and simply says:
“Beautiful!”
“Amazing!”
Those reactions remind me that the beauty of kimono and obi can reach people beyond countries, languages, and cultures.
That is why I do not simply want to sell vintage kimono.
I also want to share their beauty.
Their craftsmanship.
Japanese culture.
And the many creative ways they can be enjoyed in modern life.
I hope to continue sharing all of these things with people around the world.

Preparing the Shop for the Holiday Season

Right now, I am completely focused on building my shop.
Sourcing beautiful pieces.
Carefully checking the condition of each item.
Taking photographs.
Measuring every piece.
Thinking about what makes each item special.
And writing descriptions that can help customers around the world understand and appreciate them.
It is detailed and sometimes time-consuming work, but I truly enjoy it.
Right now, I feel that I am in a season of planting seeds.
Even if I cannot see the results immediately, I believe that every small step matters.
Choosing beautiful items.
Introducing them with care.
And slowly growing my shop, one piece at a time.
As Christmas approaches, I am continuing to add more beautiful items to the shop.
